ok guys….had to get on the bus…leaving Virginia Beach…headed to West Palm Beach Florida!!!!! the internet connection is slow as molasses so I’ll finish posting all the products and pictures tomorrow!!!! lol

k! I guess we will start with skincare since prepping the skin is soooooo important for a flawless foundation application!

I have pretty much narrowed my skin care down to Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Philosophy, Laura Mercier and now…my all time favorite is my skincare products made by EMBRYOLISSE – is a Parisian skin care line that I have found to be absolutely amazing!!! I bought mine at The Make Up Show Chicago…but if I remember correctly I was told that the product previously was not sold in the United States but they were preparing to put the product in select locations over here! So maybe you guys will get lucky and be able to try it out!

I have the cleanser, make up remover, and the amazing moisturizer!!!! which also acts as a primer so it just makes things that much better for me!

Im using this particular line on Shanell on the tour because she has extremely dry skin and this is what has been working best for us! I have absolutely no complaints about the product and Im glad I invested in it! It’s not overly expensive, but it’s not on the cheap end either so look more into it guys and see if you think this product will work for you!

I’d like to thank James Vincent for ranting and raving about this product at his seminar lol because It led me to the Embryolisse table and Im glad I went!

If Im not using this moisturizer, im more than likely using Bobbi Browns, which is also absolutely amazing!!! Ask all the dancers on tour…i had them all go to Bobbi Brown and purchase it lol…if you dont believe me…feel free to ask them

and are too difficult to put into words…

when you do makeup for people do you provide Foundation for them? I'm working on my kit and i wasn't sure if im suppose to buy like a foundation of every shade…or if the customer provides it…

i pretty much have foundation for every skin tone and every skin type! keep in mind i said pretty much…i still have to “wing it” sometimes lol. as a professional freelancer you are expected to be prepared for everything. now i am well aware of how hard that is….. because my entire 1st year of doing this professionally….i didnt have any where near the shades of foundations i needed…. but i never turned a job down and i always made it work some how…but between me and u… i used to be intimidated on some jobs because i knew i wasnt prepared…or i knew i didnt have the models right tone… i never said anything to the models or photographers… i just mixed sum stuff up at times and prayed it worked…. sometimes it worked out better than others lol…but i never completely dropped the ball…. it just made me think harder on how to make things work and my use of color theory… because sometimes when you have every foundation shade imaginable you can get a little lazy, it takes away from the artistry part because when u mix and build a foundation the ending result is sometimes if not all the times better than straight out of the bottle lol…straight out of the bottle is just easier. But put some brainpower into what you are doing…you will shock yourself and be sooo proud that you were capable of creating something out of nothing! I even used to buy one really light, med and dark foundation from Mac or bobbi brown and then buy Revlon, Maybelline, etc in more shades to mix with with…( i was being slick lol) but it worked…or i would have a decent foundation. and have cheaper loose powders so if the foundation wasnt exactly he right color…i would take those powders and make it the right color (ie, a shade darker, pinker, a little more yellow, etc)

my advice to you would be to buy one foundation or concealer everytime u have an extra 20, or everytime u get paid…and before u know it…you’re gonna have what you need. The canvas(skin) is the most important part if u ask me…so thats where most of my money is invested in..(foundation, concealer, primers, and skincare)…the color stuff eyeshadow, lipsticks, eyeliners, etc is a little easier play with and some cheap products are actually amazing!!! So later this week im gonna put together a list of the cheaper products that are absolutely AMAZING!!!! that should really help! In the meantime check out the BOBBI BROWN counter…thats my favorite brand for foundations and concealers…like every line has great products…but for foundations for black, white, asian, indian, oily, dry, combo, etc…bobbi is the best overall to me! (foundation wise) they also have great skincare too…but for foundation, eyeliners, eyeshadows, lipsticks, blush, etc Make-up Forever is a beast!!!! and my favorite blush hands down is made by NARS…it took me a min…and I was buyin em one by one…but I think i have em all now lol

hope that helped… sorry for being so longwinded lol

ADVICE to my artists out there!!!!

Invest in yourself!!!!!! I know I know times are hard, but if we want ppl to take us serious …we have to take ourselves and our work serious

if we want people to invest and spend money on and with us….we have to spend money on ourselves and our product….

if we want ppl to respect us….we have to respect this industry and respect ourselves….

iv been the struggling artist….hell…im no where near making the income i would like to be making, but i have sacrificed it all to get here…. the extra shopping sprees, the designer jeans, the weekly or monthly spa trips, buying MYSELF tons of make up, eating out 24/7, my movie trips, etc…all the things i used to loveeeee doing…i had to put on hold just to build my kit, pay for a professional website, cards, to be able to go out of state and pay to go to make up tradeshows, to basically step my game up so i can demand whatever it is that i want and people will pay it.

I stopped coming up with excuses about not having enough money….. there were times when i got lucky and could go spend 1,000 on make up at once, and there were more times when i had to go buy 1 bottle of foundation i wanted…or one good concealer…everytime i got paid…. either way… i stopped making excuses and stopped spending excess money and put it all into advancing my career.

ask anybody who knows me how much I used to shop….and ask them if I still do it big now…the answer is gonna be NO!!! im to the point now to where I feel bad for spending maddd money on myself instead of putting it into my career…im like..if im shopping i need to be shopping for my kit, or saving to be able to go to ny or la to network…blah blah blah…

I still have fun…and I still live my life…but I am much more aware…I study more…Im finding out what the industry standard is and im making sure my game is up to par!

want a sneak peek into how hard i have to grind to get my kit to where im tryna get it????? lol

picture taken sometime last year =/

want a sneak peek into my kit???? its not everything!!! but it gives you a good idea
